Who we are

This website is operated by Fedri Consulting Services Ltd, a company registered in Canada in 2008, with offices in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Casper, Wyoming. For any question about this policy or about information we hold, write to info@fedri.com.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through the contact form or by email, we receive whatever you choose to include. That usually means your name, your email address, your company name and a description of your project. We do not ask for information that is not needed in order to reply to you.

When you visit the website, our servers record standard technical information as part of normal operation. That includes the address of the page requested, the time, the type of browser and device, and the network address the request came from. This is ordinary server logging and it exists for security and for diagnosing faults.

The website stores one small preference in your browser, which is whether you have chosen the light or dark appearance. That setting stays on your own device, is not sent to us and is not used to identify you.

Why we use it

Enquiry information is used to respond to you, to prepare a proposal if you ask for one and to keep a record of our correspondence. If you become a client, the same information is used to deliver and support the work. We do not sell it, rent it or pass it to anyone for marketing purposes.

Server logs are used to keep the site secure, to investigate errors and to understand broad patterns of use such as which pages are visited most. They are not used to build a profile of individual visitors.

How the contact form is delivered

The enquiry form on this website is delivered by FormSubmit, a form handling service. When you press send, the details you typed are passed to that service, which forwards them to our company inbox. This means your name, email address and message travel through a third party before reaching us, which is normal for a website form and worth stating plainly.

A short verification step appears after you press send. This exists to keep automated spam out of our inbox and is provided by a widely used verification service, which may set its own cookies on its own page. That step happens on the provider website rather than on ours.

If you would rather not use the form at all, simply write to info@fedri.com and your message reaches exactly the same people without passing through any intermediary.

Services this website loads from elsewhere

To keep pages fast, this site loads its typefaces and its layout framework from established public content delivery networks. When your browser fetches those files, the operators of those networks receive the technical information any web request carries, including your network address and browser type. We have no access to that information and we do not receive reports from them about you.

If we add analytics or any other measurement to this website in future, this policy will be updated to say so specifically before it is used. The same applies to any change in how the contact form is delivered.

How long we keep information

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for a reasonable period so that we can recognise a returning conversation, and are then removed. Records relating to clients and completed projects are kept for as long as we have a business relationship and afterwards for the period required by Canadian and United States tax and business record rules. Server logs are kept for a short period and then rotated away.

Where information is held

Enquiry correspondence and business records are held on systems operated for us in Canada and the United States. Where we host applications for clients, the location of that hosting is agreed with the client and stated in their contract, and this policy does not govern the data held inside a client system, which remains the responsibility of that client.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Our servers are configured with restricted access, firewalls, patching on a schedule and monitored logging. Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to the people who need it in order to respond. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise, but the practices we sell to clients are the practices we apply to ourselves.

Your choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to keep it. Write to info@fedri.com and we will deal with the request within a reasonable period and without charge.

You may also clear the appearance preference this site stores by clearing site data in your browser, which will simply return the site to following your system setting.

Children

This website is intended for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children through it. Where our software products serve schools, the handling of student information is governed by the agreement with that school rather than by this website policy.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new review date. Where a change materially affects how information about you is used, we will say so plainly rather than relying on the fact that a page was quietly updated.
